The book “Warrior Princess” has been stirring in my spirit since 2014. Through a series of heartbreaking trials and through a continual battle in my inner woman some thought processes began to brew.  The thoughts went something like this, perhaps as a Christian, some of our biggest battles are fought within our own minds and hearts. On several occasions, I would say, “Oh Lord deliver me from me.” One day while pondering that thought an outline began to form on the different battles we face. Battles with relationships, ourselves, and even battles with God and of course our adversary, the devil. Through that outline, I began to see that we were created for worship yes, but also for battle. We are warriors and we have brave men and women in the Bible that show us just how brave we really can be. After much note scribbling and title brainstorming the Lord laid on my heart the title “Warrior Princess” I jotted it down and soon after I went on a mission trip to Panama and met several new friends. The son of one of the ladies there wanted to pray over his mom and I and so we said yes and he did. He laid hands on both of us at the same time and out of his mouth he said, “You are God’s Princess Warrior.” You can only imagine the shock and awe I experienced at that moment. Here is this man whom I had never met and out of His mouth comes how God feels about me and the very title of the book. I ran back inside grabbed my notebook and showed him what God was laying on my heart to write. I knew then I had for sure heard right in my quiet moments with the Lord.

Confirmation to God’s calling on my life was a beautiful moment, however, I got scared and I ran. Yep, I ran fast and headlong into sin. I felt incapable and inadequate as well as ill-equipped for what God was calling me to do. It’s funny in a way because I prayed for so long to have a specific calling and then when He gave me one I took off like Jonah. God in His mercy gave me time to come to my senses. I had to regain my Identity in Him and realize once again that I was His Princess and totally 100% equipped to do all He had called me to do. You and I are heirs to the throne of God we are His children, He is our King, therefore we are Princess’. Romans 8:14-17 states it beautifully, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.”

My husband, Johnny, is the love of my life and my biggest fan. From the moment we met he has never ceased to call me his Princess. And, given my strong-willed personality, it is no wonder that the title of this book is “Warrior Princess”.  I have the privilege and honor to share with you segments of the book to come. It is my prayer that this blog will not only be a blessing to you but an encouragement to dive into God’s word for yourself and become the Warrior Princess God has called you to be.

Blessings from your fellow Warrior and Princess,
